A Western States Regional COVID Impact Webinar:

Attorney's from four leading western law firms will provide “Tips” for employers with employees in transition between home and the workplace. Each will discuss the impact of executive orders in their states with ideas on how to deal with issues surrounding employees working from home and employees returning to the work place.  We will look at issues surrounding employees starting to come back into the work place with the relaxing of the shelter in place or stay at home executive orders. The states represented will be California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Colorado.

Kim Starr

Kim D. Starr, Ritsema & Lyon, PC

Mr. Starr is a shareholder in the Fort Collins office. Mr. Starr obtained his Colorado license in 1988. From 1988 to 1991 Mr. Starr focused on insurance defense and jury trial work. Since 1992 Mr. Starr has devoted his practice to workers' compensation defense and subrogation. He is committed to a strong, client-centered approach and is readily accessible to each client.

 

Ericka Dunn

Ericka Dunn - Hanna, Brophy, MacLean, McAleer & Jensen, LLP

Ericka D. Dunn is a partner at Hanna Brophy and has been affiliated with the San Francisco office since 2002, where she has defended various employers as well as insurance carriers in workers’ compensation litigation. She appears regularly at multiple Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board locations, including San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Salinas. Ericka also has experience in defending alleged violations of Labor Code section 132a.

 

Matthew Denley

Matthew F. Denley - Cummins Goodman Denley & Vickers, PC

Mr. Denley is a shareholder and litigator in both the civil litigation department and our administrative law department. In addition to workers’ compensation insurance defense work, he emphasizes employment law and related regulatory matters in state and federal court.  Mr. Denley is a member of Oregon, Washington and District of Columbia Bar Associations.

 

Bob Balkenbush Robert Balkenbush - Thorndal Armstrong Delk Balkenbush & Eisinger, PC

Born in Denver, Colorado, Mr. Balkenbush attended Eastern New Mexico University under an athletic scholarship in basketball and track and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.

Mr. Balkenbush attended California Western School of Law from which he received his J.D. in 1980, and the University of Washington Dental School.  Once admitted to the Nevada Bar, Mr. Balkenbush worked at the Attorney General’s office prosecuting healthcare professionals and later at the District Attorney’s office prosecuting a wide variety of criminal cases. He joined Thorndal Armstrong in 1996 and currently chairs the firm’s Workers Compensation practice group, which is his primary area of practice.
